"I've done it! I've done it! I really think I've done it!"

Some of you may not remember 'My Fair Lady', released in 1965.  The quotation is from Rex Harrison getting Eliza to speak posh English.  Well I've never been able to to that without a strange Somerset twang creeping in. No, this exclamation is about getting my blog up and running.  Oh the frustration of it all - even with the expert support from grandson Max (Thankyou Max)!  In the end I found a previous version I'd forgotten about (I forget about a lot of things these days!) and here it is - a bit late but better than never.

As launch day for What my Doctors Didn't Tell me About Cancer approaches (July 1st) we face a busy period of promotion. Fortunately the book is being very well received. "How come, when it's not been released yet?" Well I can already obtain printed copies for publicity and a happy accident was helpful. Let me explain:

When I first received the printed paperbacks, having read, re-read and re-re-read the mss, I didn't go through the text in detail. Then a friend pointed out that there was half a paragraph missing on page 17!   Aaaagh!!! 😬 I checked the mss.  It was all there. I contacted the publisher and found it was a printing mistake. I had all 20 copies replaced free of charge. So I sold the bad copies, with an errata slip tucked into p17, to members of the Herefordshire All Cancers Support Group for £5 each. All the money went to Yeleni Support and Therapy. At the first session we sold out the ten copies I'd brought in 20 minutes. I hope we'll have the same result at the June session.

You can now pre-order 'What my Doctors Didn't Tell me About Cancer' from all major British books shops or from Amazon.

Thanks for your support. 🙂
